About Allyn Shaw

Allyn Shaw has worked in the Office of Faculty and Organizational Development since June 2004. In his current position, he coordinates the leadership and organizational development programs including the MULTI Leadership Seminars, Meet Michigan traveling seminar, Faculty Emeriti Opportunities Program, and the CIC-ALP Fellows, among others.

Allyn has worked in several units at MSU, including the Office of Admissions and Scholarship; the Testing Center; the Eli Broad College of Business; the Office of Residence Life; and has taught a student leadership course. He has also worked at the University of Richmond and University of Tennessee.

In 2002, Allyn earned his Ph.D. from the Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education program in the College of Education at MSU. His dissertation title is The Effects of the Electoral Process on the Decision-making of the MSU Board of Trustees.   Allyn earned M.A. degrees in Labor and Industrial Relations and in College and University Administration from MSU. As an undergrad at MSU, Allyn studied Communication and Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management, which included a study abroad at the Ecole Hoteliere Lausanne in Switzerland and wine tasting in France. While in high school, he also studied in Caracas, Venezuela.

Allyn serves as a volunteer for his national fraternity, the MSU Student Food Bank, and the MSU Museum.
