I. Chair Stone welcomed the group.

II. The minutes from the May 25, 2005 meeting were approved.

III. Announcements

A. Lecture Series

1. Thank you to Dr. Rovner for great presentation. 39 in attendance

2. Advertising was effective: News Bulletin, Email

3. Theme possibility: Then and Now

B. Red Cedar Log

1. Want to be supportive and help Red Cedar Log

2. Will suggest volunteer names from survey results

C. Survey

1. Final stages of preparation

2. Will be in mail in next 10 days

D. Website

1. Look at website and offer suggestions for change

IV. Action Items

A. Name Change

1. The new name is MSU Faculty Emeriti Association

B. Mission Statement rewritten

1. The members had gathered some mission statements and rewrote the mission statement. The new mission statement is:

The mission of the MSU Faculty Emeriti Association is to promote, facilitate and sponsor activities that enable faculty emeriti to be actively engaged with the University and the community and to share their lifetime of experience and expertise.

C. Both name change and mission statement were voted upon and approved.
