The minutes were approved with the changes to the Charge.
The charge now reads:
The purpose of the Steering Committee is to:
1) lead sustained efforts to assess needs and opportunities for MSU Emeriti Faculty,
2) provide input and recommendations for implementation by the Office of Faculty and Organizational Development,
3) plan, oversee and implement initiatives selected by the Office of Faculty and Organizational Development and the Steering Committee that are mutually beneficial to MSU Faculty Emeriti and MSU community,
4) educate University about the faculty continuum—infusion of Faculty Emeriti into the mainstream of MSU to demonstrate interconnectivity, and
5) connect to social events of interest to Faculty Emeriti.

Some initiatives may be more appropriate and effective as collaborations with
or a sponsorship by the MSU Alumni Association, the Retirees’ Association or
individual academic units
Gary Stone opened the meeting and invited topics for discussion:
