Mentoring is one of the key components for promoting career success. In addition to offering information relevant to pursuing successful career paths through the promotion process, it is important to provide systematic support for faculty development at the unit level, and for individual faculty members to be active participants in the mentoring process by generating a plan for their own success. This workshop will provide a forum to discuss best practices in mentoring and details on a workshop to be held for new tenure stream faculty a month following to facilitate their formation of developmental mentoring networks. A panel of MSU department chairs will share what their respective units have implemented.
