The annual meeting of the MSU Faculty Emeriti Association was called to order by Gary Stone, Chair of the organization’s Steering Committee at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Approximately 30 members attended the meeting, which was held in the Corniche Room of the Kellogg Center.
Stone gave a brief over-view of the organization’s history and highlighted the work that is currently being done by the Steering Committee, whose members were introduced to the group. Nominations for membership on the FEA Steering Committee were presented with the following persons elected to three year terms:
David J. Kallen, Professor Emeritus, Pediatrics and Human Development; Christine Birdwell, Associate Professor emeritus, Writing, Rhetoric & Culture; Lois Bader, Professor Emeritus, Teacher Education; Robert M. Hollingworth, Professor Emeritus, Entomology; Edward Mather, Professor Emeritus, Veterinary Medicine and Robert V. Hudson, Professor Emeritus, Journalism.
Steering Committee nominations for officers for 2008-2009 were presented with the following members elected: John Forsyth, Chair; Charles Gliozzo, Vice Chair and Maxine Ferris, Secretary/Treasurer.
Chairman Forsyth thanked Professor Stone for his service to the organization and expressed appreciation of the Steering Committee to Allyn Shaw of the Office of Faculty and Organizational Development who serves as Staff Liaison to the group.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m. following refreshments and social time.
