The meeting of the Steering Committee of the MSU Faculty Emeriti Association was called to order by the Chairman with the following members present:  Bob Hudson, Gary Stone, David Greenbaum, David Rovner, Larry Fischer, John Forsyth, Linda Nelson, Iwao Ishino, Evelyn Rivera, David Kallen, Fred Wickert, Charles Gliozzo, Pauline Adams, Allyn Shaw.    

1. Welcome - Chair Forsyth welcomed members.
2. Agenda moved - Item 12 moved to 4. OK
3. No minutes available. Next meeting will have last months and this one.
4. Awards and Nominations committees (Forsyth). Need to get under way. Need results at April luncheon. Much discussion. Need 4 new nominees for steering committee and 3 confirmed nominees for officers. Draft list of members: Awards - Greenbaum, Rovner, Ishino, Stone, Gliozzo chair Nominations - Rivera, Sparrow, Stone, Harper-Jones

6. Lecture Series (Fischer). Lecture tomorrow. January lecturer to be named.
7. Venue for Emeriti. (Greenbaum). Visited Indiana University Emeriti House. No Emeriti organization. At least some members of steering committee wish to have a similar place. Much discussion. Some leads to people to contact in administration. No motion.
8. Journal (Gliozzo). Has to be on hold for time being, since Provost cannot support at this time.
9. Oral History project (Nelson) - Met with administration. Consent forms holding up, since all are different in different units.
10. Communications (Forsyth). Roger has drafted a white paper for uses of our e-mail lists. Sent by e-mail before this meeting

11. Emeriti survey (Forsyth) - Handed out old survey. Q - should we repeat. Especially since we are better organized now.

    • APPOINT A COMMITTEE TO UPDATE SURVEY, SEND IT TO EMERITI, BUT DECIDE ON WHAT TO DO WITH THE RESULTS THEREFROM BEFORE WE SEND IT OUT. Passed by voice aclimation.
